Our story

Someone is finally fixing the dev loop.

After enough years writing software, you start seeing the same pattern on every team. Pure coding is the fun, easy part. It's the process around it that sucks up your time: code review, integration, testing, deployment.

When we founded MetalBear in 2022, the worst of it was the dev loop: local environments didn't match prod, and the only option was queueing for the staging cluster and hoping nothing got broken for everyone else.

The industry's answer was ephemeral environments: a fresh stack per developer, per branch, per change. Expensive, brittle, and you still get a shallow simulation of prod at the end of it.

Instead, we asked: what if engineers could connect local code to the real cloud environment, safely and without stepping on each other?

For years, mirrord has been running the dev loop for engineering teams across the industry. Now it's doing the same for AI coding agents: an agent that can't see the real system has to guess, and a wrong guess is far more expensive than a developer rerunning a test. What was a productivity tax for humans is becoming a hard ceiling on how capable agents can get. mirrord fixes it for both.
