What is mirrord?
mirrord is the leading Kubernetes development platform. Is there a free version of mirrord?
Yes — mirrord OSS is free and open source. It's great for individual developers. The Team and Enterprise plans add collaboration features, an operator for shared cluster access, and support.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. You can start a free trial at app.metalbear.com without a credit card.
How are seats calculated?
Seats are based on monthly activity. Any user who used mirrord in a calendar month counts as one seat. Users are identified by a unique file mirrord creates on the machine. Contact us if this doesn't represent distinct users (e.g., cloud workers, CI systems).
Can I use mirrord OSS for my team?
mirrord OSS is designed for individual use. For teams sharing a cluster, you need the mirrord Operator (included in Team and Enterprise plans) which manages concurrent sessions and prevents conflicts.
What languages and frameworks does mirrord support?
mirrord works with any libc-based language: Rust, Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby, and more — plus Go. It's language-agnostic by design.
How does concurrent access work?
The mirrord Operator manages sessions on the cluster, using HTTP filters, queue splitting, and traffic routing to isolate each developer's session — so multiple people (and AI agents) can work against the same environment simultaneously without conflicts.
Does mirrord install anything on my cluster?
mirrord OSS creates a temporary pod that is removed when you stop. No persistent state. The Team/Enterprise Operator is installed once and manages sessions for the whole team.
